Look out, I'm on the hunt for grants. I'm looking for grant(s) for establishing Bear Lake Press out in a warehouse and new equipment. This will be fun, I can have a gallery for art, a studio, a press room and hopefully it will be in the Depot District in Lubbock, by the Buddy Holly Center.
Next grant, for my Mom. Looking for grant money to help her repair her house. It's out there, I just need to write the letters and make them interesting.
Next grant, for my Sister. She is starting a new business and needs to buy an old house, repairs, and inventory. She and my niece are going to run this business. Annie May's Resale, Best little shop in Texas.
We are also in the process of filling out papers for a VA home loan and finishing the taxes. I filed an extension since we both had business attached to our taxes.
You got it, my brain hurts.

New Books and New Chapters
My books arrived from Tate Publishing the other day and we started the pre-marketing for the official book release date of July 10, 2012. I am in LOVE with this publishing company. They have done everything they have said, my book is very professional looking and I am so happy with the illustrations that Justin Steir did for my Alexander Graham Cracker.
I am looking forward to getting my own publishing projects finished this year. Just getting started is such a big deal and I do work from my home office in the company of my 5 employees - Rosie, Elvis, Mutts, Winkie, and Charlie - my Chihuahua's. (They work for peanut butter treats and bits of Mom's lunch, Chihuahua Union Rules)
Alexander Graham Cracker's first book signing was this week and I can't say it was a smashing success, but you live and learn. At least I know what to do for the next story time and book reading.

Alexander Graham Cracker
Alexander Graham Cracker is coming to fruition! On Valentine's Day I received the proofs of the cover and on the 23rd I received the page layouts from the artist. Wow! It is so fabulous and RETRO! I am looking forward to the next phase which is pre-marketing and then the release! This is a very exciting time for us at Bear Lake Press. Continue to stay in touch. <3

New Projects, New Beginnings
Wow, summer is gone and fall is here. It won't be long until the little goblins come calling. Fall is my favorite time of year. I love the changing colors, the cool evenings and mornings, the hint of frost. Picking out the pumpkins and deciding how to decorate them is always a favorite of the grandkids. Their parents loved it, too, when they were little.
It seems like this time of year I am always trying to loose a little weight so I won't be an huge marshmallow by Christmas. It might be nice if the holidays and the feasts were spread out over the year instead of grouped together.
At Bear Lake Press we are busy working on our fall project, a beautiful book of poetry. Getting the feel of the papers, designing the layout, sorting the poems all give such a wonderful feeling of accomplishment. So far we have 3 possible titles, a couple of different designes for the cover and a fairly concrete idea of how the pages will lay out. It is an amazing feeling to take ideas and make them visual for others to share.
Our other project in the works is a children's picture book full of imagination and adventure! Shoot for the stars...

Venturing Forth
Stepping out into the new decade we are looking forward to publishing a myriad of books, curriculum, historical fiction pertaining to our country and various other ephemera. I will be posting submission guidelines in the very near future. Right now we are up to our eyebrows with projects. Please continue to check with us and watch us grow! We are looking forward to expanding our horizons and bringing our dreams, visions, and stories to children around the world.
